So you know how sometimes you go shopping with your best friend or have lunch with your mom or grab coffee with someone you haven't seen in a long time and you think "Wow, I had such a great day with _____ today!"
Today I had a great day with myself.
Is that weird? I don't care. I'm a girl who loves getting socks for Christmas and considers it cool that she knows all the words to "American Pie." I got over "weird" a long time ago.
Besides, I didn't have a choice to be alone today. I'm by myself on a business trip. So I decided to make the best of it! And in doing so came up with some great ways to have some high- quality "me time" (as my lovely roommate would call it). So here are some ideas for what to do the next time you find yourself...with just yourself:
1. Read a good book.
3. Have a beer while watching Jeopardy. (What? I didn't do this. It was just an idea.)
4. Order enough room service to feed several people. And then don't be ashamed when they say "And this is just for one?" They only do that to make you feel bad. Don't let them win.
| Yup...may have overdone it a bit. But I'm not one to say no to carrot cake. |
5. Call your best friend.
6. Make a new friend (It still counts if you talk to the room service man for 10 minutes.)
7. Go exploring in a cool city (Ok, I lucked out on this one...I'm in Seattle).
8. Curl up in bed and watch your favorite episode of your favorite show.
9. Go to bed super early! Surrounded by approximately 12 hotel pillows.

Yeah...it was a pretty high quality day for Kenzie Kilb. Considering that I also worked 9 hours of it.
That being said, I'm still pretty anxious to get back to my pretty roommate. Twenty-four hours is about enough time to be all by myself.
Is it weird to comment on my own blog? I don't think so.
